Abstract
The economic and technical challenges of fuel cell adoption in automobile systems extend well beyond the fuel cell, the methods selected to deliver hydrogen to the fuel cell and other technical considerations. Federal regulations could either speed or inhibit the adoption of fuel cells. For example, federal policies that promote further development of nuclear power will promote adoption of hydrogen production by nuclear generated electricity. Ten public policies that could accelerate the adoption of fuel cells in transportation applications are offered.
