  • Abstract
Network administrators are always worried that may not being informed about a failure taken place in the network, or are informed lately. They are also worried that even if they are informed very soon, they couldnpsilat get to the related location to solve the problem. This anxiety is mainly because normally network managers need to go to the network location or at least have access to the Internet to be able to do something for fixing the occurred failure. This paper suggests a novel method for remote administration of computer and telecommunication networks. In this approach, (SMS) short massage service is used to inform administrators about a failure, as well as let them send commands for fixing the occurred failure. We set up an application program on one of the manageable network systems or on a system which has access to the internet, then using SNMP protocol; we gather the needed information for the network administrator. Also network managers can send commands to the application software by Short Message Service to let it issue commands for fixing the failure. By taking advantage of this approach, network managers can control and manage their network when they are far from the network location.
