  • Abstract
An efficient, accurate, and stable time-domain finite element-boundary integral (TD-FE- BI) solver for analyzing scattering and radiation from electrically large platforms supporting geometrically intricate antenna structures is presented. The proposed scheme separates the antenna and the platform by introducing a single boundary/interface surface. It then formulates vector-wave FE and combined field BI equations governing the behavior of the electromagnetic fields throughout the (non- overlapping) FE and BI domains, respectively. These equations are coupled by enforcing tangential field continuity across the boundary surface; the coupled system of equations is discretized using a single time-step size.
