  • Abstract
Microwaves require shorter time to increase the temperature of samples compared to conventional heating methods. However, the phenomenon of hot spots and temperature runaway limit its application at industrial level. In order to describe temperature distribution within the samples in the process of microwave heating, a mathematical two-dimensional model is proposed by solving Maxwell´s equations coupled with the heating balance equation. The model simulation is carried out and validated during the heating of an deionized water sample.
