Abstract
A distributed monitoring system based on computers, control and communication for the complicated power systems stability and security is presented. The matrix real-time communication network is used to exchange data between any two sub-systems in the distributed monitoring system. The implication tiers data organization mode is applied to establish a real-time database management system. This kind of system can monitor the secure and stable states for complicated power systems online, and the precision is improved and computation is simplified by efficiently using the real-time information in this system
