Abstract
Gold codes are used to obtain sequences for a CDMA (code-division multiple-access) system. The interference between users is minimized owing to the low cross correlation values of the sequences of the Gold codes. In many cases the number of CDMA users is considerably less than the number of sequences in a Gold code. Thus, not all of the Gold code sequences are used and some reduction in interference between users can be obtained. A more reliable CDMA system is achieved by error correction coding methods that utilize multiple Gold code sequences for individual CDMA users. The sequences considered in the paper are restricted to binary sequences
