Abstract
Based on the methodologies of the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and goal programming (GP) the paper presents a goal programming model that can easily determine the index weights by utilizing only the upper triangular elements of the pairwise comparison matrix in AHP. An example is illustrated, and a comparison between the eigenvector procedure and our model is, in the light of least distance approximation, also made
