Abstract
Models of plant behavior are required to use formal methods of manufacturing execution systems (MES) application development. We present a manufacturing oriented modular approach for designing such models. The approach is a first step towards a predictive simulation system for operator support in control of complex, hybrid manufacturing systems in the plastics industry.
