Abstract
Compared with other areas of the country, the urbanization level of Zhejiang is comparatively high. The paper first makes a cluster analysis on the urbanization level of 11 prefecture-level cities in Zhejiang; then it makes a quantitative analysis on the factors that influence urbanization. The result shows that three indexes namely the proportion of the secondary industry and tertiary industry in GDP, employment proportion of the tertiary industry and employment proportion of non-state sectors that reflect labor force transfer space have the greatest impact; the proportion of market allocation of resources and proportion of investment in fixed assets in GDP has relatively large impact. Finally it proposes countermeasures and suggestions for promoting the urbanization process of Zhejiang.
