Abstract
Backscatter coefficient is an important parameter to characterize material in medical field. But there exits no standard method in the measurement. In this article, based on immersion focused pulse-echo method, the influence of transducer focus position and selected signal length in backscatter coefficient measurement for BMF (Blood Mimicking Fluid) is investigated at different frequency points from 1 MHz to 5 MHz. Each result is obtained after processed by wavelet transform and averaging many times. Experiment results show that: 1) When the focus is located into the sample, the backscatter coefficient is slight bigger than the focus placed at the upper surface of the sample. 2) The backscatter coefficient result decrease slightly when the selected signal length increases obviously.
