Abstract
An experiment was carried out to verify the coherent underwater acoustic communication link we developed and to study the performance of adaptive equalization algorithm. The system operated successfully at 100 m distance and the symbol rate for BPSK is 2kbit/s. During channel equalization, LMS and RLS algorithm are used and data processing results show that, the convergence performance of the normally used Ts/2 spaced equalization is worse than Ts/4 spaced equalization which gets zero bit error rate.
