  • Abstract
Application of Fuel Cells such as in automobiles, distributed generation and other energy applications, requires a research based model which can be used to test and re-test in a simulation environment. This work aims to create the exact detailed electrical model of the fuel cell based on the actual electrochemical process that occurs in a proton exchange membrane fuel cell that controls the cell terminal power and voltage characteristics. The PEM FC Voltage versus Current and hence Power versus Current characteristics of a PEM Fuel Cell is studied as an alternate power source for applications in Electric Powered Vehicles.
