Abstract
In this paper, we propose a novel contact-based hybrid routing scheme for delay tolerant networks (DTNs). The scheme combines utility and centrality metrics to make forwarding decision. The utility and centrality metrics are defined with two kinds of contact history, the ages of last encounter and the cumulative contact durations between the nodes in the network, respectively. We evaluate the performances of the proposed routing scheme using three real connectivity trace data sets. The simulation results show that the routing scheme achieves better performance in terms of delivery, delay and overhead, compared to PROPHET and SimBet Routing.
