Abstract
The second high-pressure grinding roll installed at Heidelberg´s Leimen Plant, based on experience with the first industrial pilot installation, has demonstrated that six different types of cement with different feed compositions and different finenesses can be produced in a single grinding system utilizing recirculation of separator rejects and flakes. Capacity increases of the existing ball milling circuit have been reached in the hybrid grinding mode as well as with flake recirculation ranging between 16 and 45%. These capacity increases are in line with figures based on previous experience in this plant. Energy savings achieved range from approximately 2 to 7.5 kWh/MT, which also is in the range of previous experience
