  • Abstract
The biomechanical properties of load bearing joint´s articular cartilage have been studied by the biphasic model of How et al. (1990). Freshly amputated bovine knee joints have been tested under moderate load with articulation on the knee joint articulating machine. Instant and equilibrium aggregate moduli have been obtained by a confined compression test of the articular cartilage on a Lloyd 1000R Universal testing machine. Results showed significant alteration in instant and equilibrium moduli of articular cartilage under moderate loading
