Abstract
As more devices get connected to networks, Machine-to-Machine(M2M) communication is expected to be a normal form of communications in the future. In our previous study [1], group communication scheme was proposed in order to meet the requirements of M2M: extremely low power consumption of devices and mass device transmission while causing minimal change of the standards. One of typical M2M applications is measurement report to an M2M server. The size of measurement report packet would be as small as a few bits. For efficient packet transmission of M2M devices´ small packets in group based M2M communication, network coding based transmission scheme is proposed in this paper. By employing the proposed scheme, feedback overhead of error control can be substantially reduced. The simulation results show that the transmission efficiency can be improved up to 26dB.
