Abstract
ECMA TC 12 had created the draft of ECMA 287 in December 2002 and provided it to IEC TC 108 with items that does not reach consensus. ECMA 287 considers safety evaluation under ITE and AV scope and may differ from current requirements described in the safety standards IEC 60950-1:2001 and IEC 60065:2001. In this article, we focus on the things in ECMA 287 that are new and will require users of IEC 60950-1 and IEC 60065 to change the way they investigate products.
