Abstract
Tracking radar plays an important role in parameter evaluation of artillery shells during development and production stage. CW Monopulse radar is capable of giving more number of trajectory parameters with high degree of accuracy and reliability. This paper mainly deals with the test firing configuration for measurement of parameters like trajectory coordinates, velocity, height of functioning and drift from line of fire. Dynamic firing aspects of above parameters are covered and data acquisition from a monopulse receiver are presented. Projectile range is measured using DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System). Measurement results obtained from tracking radar are compared with DGPS and simulation results. This paper also deals with different sources of random and systematic errors that affect the measurement accuracy of tracking radar system.
