  • Abstract
As we all know, freeway solves the problem about the lack of the transportation resources in home and then contributes to the development in economy. However, as economy developed fast, the growing number of motor, together with people´s favor to choose freeway, makes freeway full of motor, chaos and congestion. On-ramp control is one of the efficient ways to regulate the flow of traffic entering the freeway and reduce the congestion on freeway. Based on ramp control in freeway and simulation and modeling, which is discussed in home and abroad, this essay used the micro-model, Cellular Automata traffic model (CA) in on-ramp transportation modeling, hoping that the freeway on-ramp transportation model could describe the character of the real on-ramp transportation in freeway; according to the long waiting-queue problem on the on-ramp, signal control system is applied with two different control methods, set-time signal timing method and dynamic signal timing method; based on the simulation results, conclusion is obtained.
