Abstract
A calibration approach is proposed for the purpose of calibrating a projector-camera reconstruction system with a model plane. The projected structured light is in the form of color-encoded stripes. To reconstruct 3-D information, the geometric parameters of the structured light stripes must be known a priori. The proposed calibration method employs a model plane to measure those parameters. The model plane is placed in the workspace and the structured light pattern is projected onto it. The pose of the model plane and the projected structured light stripes can thus be estimated according to captured images. By changing the pose of the model plane a number of times, the geometric parameters of the structured light planes in 3-D space can be determined effectively.
