Abstract
This paper describes the use of a digital beam-forming technique in a spatial multiplexing MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) context. A beam-former using the LMS (Least Mean Square) algorithm has been implemented in order to mitigate the cross-channel interference as well as exploiting the spatial diversity. Hence, it is demonstrated that this system enhances the quality of the received signal while improving the channel capacity. Simulation results show that the proposed system has highly used diversity gain comparing to a classic MIMO technique which is based on the ZF (Zero Forcing) concept in terms of link quality using the EVM (Error Vector Magnitude) as figure of merit.
