Abstract
-A novel half-wavelength resonator with small size and high Q is proposed for the first time in the world. Two folded quarter-wavelength resonators are vertically stacked owing to the multilayer nature of LTCC (low temperature co-fired ceramic). Each electrode part is connected with via holes. It is named as "VSRR" (Vertical Split Ring Resonator). The super miniature size with high Q is obtained by this structure. The resonance frequency is easily calculated by circuit model and 3D EM simulation as well. The performance of experimental resonators shows good agreement with theory.
