  • Abstract
A new region technique is presented for designing broadband linear and low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) with lossless equalizers. It allows the exact synthesis of equalizers directly from a simultaneous set of performance specifications, including the gain, gain flatness, noise figure, input and output return losses, and stability. The technique is implemented in the CAD tool providing a means for fast and convenient visual amplifier design. As an example, the design of 1.5-2.5 GHz matched MMIC LNA without external matching networks is demonstrated.
