  • Abstract
    With increasing investment in natural gas powered generation technologies, limitations in gas delivery capabilities are becoming increasingly relevant to operational planning for power systems. This paper presents a combined model for the electrical and natural gas operation based on mixed integer linear programming. This combined model can be used for analyzing the interdependencies of electrical and natural gas systems, as well as identifying critical vulnerabilities which cannot be observed by studying the electrical and natural gas systems separately. A three-bus system with four gas nodes is presented to demonstrate the proposed model.
