Abstract
This paper describes a method to discriminate the rotor position for the permanent magnet motor with closed stator slot at stand-still mode using the partial magnetic saturation, and starting scheme of this motor. Since It is partially saturated by 12% of rated current, it is possible to estimate the rotor position without noise and vibration. Driving characteristics of this motor are also described and considered its efficiency.
