Abstract
The computer program ESME is presented as a tool for modeling the evolution of a distribution of particles, in longitudinal phase space. General features of the code are discussed, and a specific example illustrating the use of the code is given, i.e. debunching and bunch coalescing using the parameters of the Fermilab Main Ring
