Abstract
The concept of Concealed Weapon and Explosive (CWE) detection by the analysis of the Late Time Response (LTR) of the complex human-explosive object when the illuminating signal is characterised as UWB, has been presented in. The functionality of CWE detection solutions critically depends on the ability of fast detection along with the detection capability of various CWEs. This paper investigates the detection accuracy via LTR analysis in relation to the scanning time period. The detection is accomplished via human-CWE LTR analysis in order to retrieve the CWE resonant frequencies. Using two different algorithms of resonant frequencies analysis, it is shown that fast CWE detection is feasible. Additionally the methodology is generalised for the detection of the hand-grenade and the revolver handgun.
