  • Abstract
This work reports on a novel advanced method of studying proteins in solutions. Superior sensitivity can be achieved by treating the surface of the quartz crystals in such a way as to attract or repel materials based upon their electrical charge. Protein solutions are especially interesting because the net charge of the protein molecule can be changed from positive to negative by varying the pH of the solution around the isoelectric point.
