Abstract
In this paper an indirect measurement technique has been applied for carrying out measurement on linear induction motors, by using a DSP-based instrument, which appears to be extremely effective and useful in certain applications such as characterization, diagnosis and control. The motor model has been built by considering the physical phenomena involved in this device. It has been validated by comparing the results obtained in the indirect measurements of some parameters with those obtained by means of a contactless smart sensor. First results regarding the analysis of the main sources of errors are presented
