Abstract
We have designed and developed a new flash X-Ray generator at C.E.S.T.A. (French A.E.C). This new compact X-Ray facility delivers a 1.5 MV diode voltage - 30 kA diode current, at nominal peak Marx voltage in routine operation. The radiation pulse duration is about 40 its. The close is approximatively 3.2 rad (Si) at nominal peak Marx voltage and at one meter from die convertor. The overall r.m.s jitter is measured to be less than 10 ns. The main feature of this generator is the compactness (4m x 2m x 2m). Because this generator must be mobile, it was designed to be completely independent. This program started in January 90 and must be finished in April 91.
