Abstract
In this paper, we take into consideration that users are Gaussian distributed around base station situated at the center of a circular cell. This is a realistic assumption for rural areas having a single cell where users are concentrated in the center of the village and gradually the number of users decrease with distance. Percentage of users with adequate quality of service (QOS) is an important parameter for system designers. We approximate the probability density function of the path loss found in the literature and the new evaluate a solution for percentage with adequate reception. We find a generalized solution that can be used for different channel models and cell sizes. Moreover, simulation is performed based on parameters of rural areas to validate our analytical results.
