Abstract
Much research has been performed on value-based requirements engineering, value-based design, value-based testing, and other related activities. However, to date, there is no holistic approach to help software engineers and project managers transform value-neutral software development processes to value-based processes. Current works on value-based software engineering (VBSE) mainly focus on how to make specific software process activities bring value. In this paper, we present an approach that helps convert or tailor value-neutral processes to value-based processes. The resulting new processes bring more value to the stakeholders, because the process is more capable to manage the cost and benefit of the software. An experiment is conducted to verify the proposed approach.
