Abstract
Induction motor speed control strategies for loss reduction and efficiency enhancement are presented. Induction motor equivalent circuit models for efficiency enhancements were utilized to study the steady-state analysis of speed control of three-phase induction motors. The harmonic effects of nonsinusoidal supply voltages and the nonlinear variation of the magnetizing reactance as a function of magnetizing current were also considered in the loss evaluation models
