  • Abstract
In this paper, the tunable metal-insulator-metal (MIM) plasmonic power splitter based on surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) excitation have been analyzed and simulated by the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) numerical method. By choosing proper coupling lengths, two, three and four output power splitters with various output power ratios at 1550nm wavelength have been proposed and their performances have been simulated. The compact dimensions of the coupler are in the range of subwavelength that without any limitation created by the lightwave diffraction can be used in the photonic integrated circuits (PICs).
