Abstract
Systems described by state-space models but with structured deterministic uncertainties are discussed. First a new sufficient condition is given which improves on the sufficient condition given by T.T. Juang et al. (Int. J. Syst. Sci., vol.18, pp.1363-1376, 1987) for stability robustness of linear continuous-time systems. The result is extended to linear discrete-time systems by presenting a new sufficient condition which improves on the sufficient condition given by Juang et al. (Int. J. Control, vol.46, pp.1547-1556, 1987). Illustrative examples are given to show that it is possible to attain the necessary and sufficient condition of the system stability by searching for the best similarity transformation matrix
