  • Abstract
    A series of multi layer sector operators are presented for image gradient estimation in edge detection. Replacing the gradient estimation method in canny operator by the multi layer sector operators, a novel edge detection method is obtained, which is more robust to noise and has more accurate edge localization, especially when a corner or a cross exists. Both synthetic and natural images validate our methods.
