Abstract
The paper presents knowledge-based enterprise modeling framework (KBEM) for the development of an enterprise knowledge base. The knowledge base together with explicitly defined knowledge management activity is concerned as the major component of the knowledge-based enterprise. The KBEM is developed by redefining business process concept of porter´s value chain model (VCM) and by identifying knowledge management layer. Knowledge management layer further is decomposed and KBEM is represented as formalized enterprise knowledge structure. Derived knowledge structure forms the background for the development of the enterprise knowledge base
