Abstract
The challenges teachers face in delivering computer instructions in equipped educational institutions in Jamaica are wide and varying. These range from micro individual student problems to macro problems that relate to policy issues for computer related aspects of the curriculum in schools. The usual barrier of not having appropriate facilities and equipment was removed in a number of institutions in Jamaica during the last three years by the implementation of a number of funded projects such as InfoDev, Jamaica 2000, and EdTech 2020 which outfitted several institutions with computer facilities. Some institutions raised funds on their own to provide these facilities. Although some of these institutions are now fairly well equipped, there are several challenges that they face with respect to using these facilities to effectively deliver computer training at the various levels. This paper identifies and examines the challenges faced by teachers/lecturers in these equipped institutions
