Abstract
This paper presents a multi-blackboard approach to design and implement a control/monitoring system for the Automation of Production Systems. The proposed architecture is composed of several control/monitoring agents (CMAs) organized hierarchically. Communication between agents is done through a hierarchy of blackboards, where consistent replicated data is kept.
