  • Abstract
    We report here, to our knowledge, on the first demonstration of a modular 8/spl times/8 optical switch built with opto-hybrid 8/spl times/1 SOA-based space switch modules. A WDM experiment shows that this 8 x 8 optical switch offers a potential of 1.28 Tbit/s throughput.
