  • Abstract
    Summary form only given as follows. We propose a model for handling quality information with the aim of improving quality and productivity in an organization. A hierarchical model of information is based on three levels: control of the process; evaluation of the process; organizational assessment. The three levels are described and a field application is presented and discussed. The approach from which the model was developed stems from an interdisciplinary combination of industrial engineering, information systems, organizational psychology and industrial statistics. The proposed model, in our field-tested experience, improves the chances for a successful realization of the improvement potential in the organization
