Abstract
A PAM system with soft switching PFC converter is proposed. To reduce the switching losses and EMI noise, a soft switching circuit is used for a PFC converter. The PAM inverter for a motor drive has a number of advantages. The output of the PAM inverter can be controlled by the PFC converter. By using the proposed PAM system for motor drive, the sinusoidal input current with unity power factor is obtained, the switching loss is decreased and the motor driven by the PAM inverter produces approximately constant torque
