Abstract
This research presents a real-time multi-agent path finding system for XNA game development. In our system, each agent thinks independently, and continues to search and move to reach its destination, so a group behaviors with significant individual characteristic can be better simulated, The concept of soft obstacle is introduced to implement collision avoidance between agents and crowd movement simulation, The path finding algorithm is applied and bridged on the 3D games, which provides efficient multi NPC path finding function for real-time game. The paper expounds the system from overall structure, components detail, core algorithms and practical application, and then obtains the experimental results.
