Abstract
The purpose of this study is to present an in-depth analysis of the current state of the art of virtual teams (VTs) research in the main land of China by systematically reviewing papers published from 2000-2009. A total of 148 papers are identified and classified by their research topics, research methods, and theoretical foundations. Based on examination and analysis of our data, some critical issues for further VTs research in China are pointed out, including promising research areas, theoretical foundation building and empirical methods appropriation. Hopefully, our finding can pave a fruitful way for the Chinese researchers who have interests in VTs in the future.
