  • Abstract
The unit machine of traditional doubly salient electromagnetic generator (DSEG) has a 6-4 pole structure, so it must have a large number of stator poles when used as a low speed wind turbine generator. The matching relationship between stator pole number and rotor pole number for multi-poles-rotor DSEG is deduced, and a new 24-32-pole DSEG is proposed. Magnetostatic field distribution, excitation inductance characteristic, as well as output characteristic of the DSEG is studied by 2-D FEA. A low speed prototype machine is developed, and the experimental results are given to verify the validity of simulation analysis and reasonable structure of 24-32-poles DSEG.
