Abstract
In this paper we discuss a method for volumetric segmentation that is used by a system we have developed for body tissue (e.g., bones, organs, internal organ structures, and tumours and cysts) segmentation and visualization in high resolution computerized tomographic (CT) images of the lower torso. The system is designed for application to diagnosis and surgical planning and is especially useful for applications involving von Hippel Lindau kidney disease. We focus on the system´s segmentation technique and demonstrate the capabilities of the technique on a number of CT images
