Abstract

In order to analyze the spatial distribution difference of star-hotels in Chongqing city, 81 star-hotels in six districts of Chongqing city were investigated by using spatial analysis tools Mapinfo7.0 of GIS and method of mathematical physics. The results are as follows: firstly the spatial distribution structure is typical cluster structure with multi-center, and there exist large regional differences in distribution of the number of star-hotels among six districts. Secondly, the rating-scale of star-hotels in Chongqing city is a spindle structure. Thirdly, the spatial concentration degree of star-hotels is very high, and spatial equalization degree is very low. So it can be concluded that the spatial distribution of star-hotels in Chongqing city is mainly influenced by the distribution of business centers and condition of traffic.
