Abstract
For the purpose of real-time simulation of an electronically controlled diesel engine, a cylinder-by-cylinder mean value engine model is put forward. The model calculates each cylinder performance using a modified mean value model in which mean value of power of the whole cycle is substituted by that of in the power stroke. A RT-Flex60 low-speed common rail marine diesel engine was taken as an example. Simulation results show that the model can simulate performance of each cylinder and speed fluctuation of the whole engine, and will be the basis of simulation system of electrical control system of diesel engine.
