Abstract
This paper presents a cooperation mechanism for spatial information sharing in Web based geographic information systems (WebGIS). It first provides an introduction of the architecture of the WebGIS based data sharing system as well as the WebGIS client and server. Then the detailed design and implementation of the proposed cooperation mechanism for spatial data/information sharing in a WebGIS environment are presented.
