Abstract
A high pressure mercury discharge lamp is used for a light source of liquid crystal display (LCD) projector spread widely as an equipment for electric presentation. Along with this spreading, the light source of this kind is required to get more long life performance than ever. The point to get a long life performance on this lamp which characterized by extraordinary high pressure and high temperature is to prevent a deformation of the glass vessel. We tried to make a computational FEM model for the deformation analysis of a glass vessel. Therefore the quantity of deformation depend on total lighting time was estimated by using a computer.
